The paper describes the features of the use of CAD in the production process in the design and construction of highways. We have considered the main tasks that CAD allows us to solve, as well as the main advantages of using this system. In addition, we have described the main components of CAD, and concluded that there is a need for continuous improvement of these systems, due to fairly rapid technical changes in many areas of human activity.
