The article discusses issues of improving the mechanism for introducing product innovations in the forestry sector of the Russian Federation. The imperfections of the existing mechanism for introducing product innovations have been identified. Activities aimed at improving the innovation process in the forestry industry are proposed. Recommendations have been formulated to improve the mechanism for introducing product innovations into the forestry industry.
