The article examines the role of waste recycling in the context of sustainable development and its environmental and economic benefits. The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, reduction of consumption of natural resources, environmental pollution and dependence on petroleum products are analyzed. Economic benefits such as job creation, stimulating innovation and developing new markets are also considered.
