this article discusses the main types of financial fraud. The results of a survey of Russians conducted by «Ingosstrakh» and NAFI for 2022-2023 are analyzed, which demonstrate an increase in the number of cases of residents of the country encountering crimes within the framework of monetary circulation. It is concluded that the most vulnerable categories that face financial fraud are senior citizens, people who have not received higher education, and women. The algorithm of actions for a person faced with financial fraud is defined, methods of detecting and preventing various types of fraud are considered. In conclusion, it is concluded that it is necessary to improve the financial literacy of the population and cover cases of financial fraud in the media.
