the article discusses issues related to road safety, problems arising in this area and ways to overcome them at the present stage. Organizational measures have been provided within the framework of the national project "Safe high-quality roads", implemented in 84 regions of the country. It has a great impact on the transport infrastructure in Russia: the construction of new modern highways, bridges and overpasses, the use of modern technologies and materials, the introduction of intelligent transport systems, improving the safety of highways. The main goal of this project is to improve the quality of life of the population. Work under this project has been underway in the Voronezh Region since 2017. During this time, more than 2.6 thousand km of regional roads and more than 15 large artificial structures have been repaired. More than 350 sections of highways near preschool and school institutions, social and cultural facilities are equipped with security elements.
