The article assesses the impact of numerous sanctions applied in the last two years by unfriendly countries. The article analyzes how the regions of our country as part of the federal districts cope with the obstacles that have begun to arise recently. The article, among other things, presents and examines statistics on the change in the share of sales in the total volume of retail trade by federal districts. The further economic development of the regions within the districts directly depends on the reaction of the regional governments to the circumstances that have arisen. Recommendations are given on overcoming barriers that temporarily impede the economic development of regions.
