The results of human economic activity lead to environmental pollution. Under the current conditions, it is necessary to look for ways aimed not only at minimizing the anthropogenic impact on the habitat, but also at ensuring decent living conditions for humans, that is, to create conditions for sustainable development of the territory. Ecological capacity is an indicator that determines the stability of an ecosystem to adverse anthropogenic influences. There are a large number of methodological approaches that are used to determine it. In order to carry out an environmental assessment of the territory, an environmental diagnosis should be carried out, which will make it possible to determine and characterize the state of the environment, its objects, ecosystems and landscapes. In order to effectively assess the ecological capacity of territories, it is necessary to make a reasonable choice of indicators that form it.
