Abstract (English):
This article provides a comparative analysis of the structural, functional and planning characteristics of parks and gardens in Russia. As a result of the analysis and generalization, more precise definitions of the concept of "park" were formulated. Special attention is paid to the description of the historical appearance of parks in order to identify the relationships and patterns in the development of the main elements of landscape art.
