Abstract (English):
Wood painting is one of the oldest types of decorative and applied art. By 2024, interest in wood painting began to gain popularity as it had several decades ago. Furniture is not an easy object of beauty, emphasizing the decor of the premises and pleasing the human eye, but also the personification of culture, history and the essence of different generations. The article is devoted to such a decorative element as wood painting, its transformation from antiquity to the present, as well as materials, tools and coatings for this technique of furniture decoration. The article presents all the main types of furniture painting, which have become widespread and developed in our time. There are also combinations and mixtures of these types, which, with high-quality work, turn out to be very spectacular, which does not allow the painting to stand still.
