This article discusses aspects of the origin and development of forest certification in Russia. The issues of forest certification are studied from the point of view of principles and mechanisms, as well as information on the impact of the economic, environmental and social aspects on the development of the forest industry. These aspects allow us to comprehensively consider issues related to the general population and the impact of forest certification on sustainable forest management.
