Abstract (English):
In this paper, the influence of a protective forest strip on carbon dioxide emissions in the territory of the Kamennaya Steppe State Nature Reserve is investigated. Studies of carbon dioxide emissions were carried out using the closed chamber method using a portable soil gas exchange measurement system LI-870SC (CO2/H2O). The average carbon emissions in the area of protective forest strips are about 1.4 times higher than in arable soils. It is obvious that protective forest stands are actively involved in regulating the carbon balance of the ecosystem not only by absorbing carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, but also contribute to an increase in CO2 emissions from chernozems.
