This article examines the prospects of applying modern technologies, such as neural networks, drones, and artificial intelligence (AI), to combat pests and diseases in the forest management sector of the Russian Federation. Pests and forest diseases are one of the main threats to Russian forest ecosystems, especially in the context of climate change. The article describes current methods of addressing these issues, including mechanical, biological, and chemical approaches, as well as their advantages and disadvantages. It also discusses international experiences in applying technologies to fight forest diseases. Special attention is given to how the integration of neural networks and AI can enhance the efficiency of forest resource management, reduce the damage from diseases, and improve the prediction of pest outbreaks.
