The results of the federal project "Forest Conservation" of the national project "Ecology" in the Belgorod region, the implementation of which contributes to solving the problem of forest reproduction in areas of felled and dead forest plantations, are considered. According to the main indicator "The ratio of the area of reforestation and afforestation to the area of felled and dead forest plantations", the key points are analyzed. The forest cover in the Belgorod region increased by 8.8%
