The article examines the problems of the existing technology of sowing forest seeds in nurseries of the forest-steppe zone and substantiates the need to modernize the seeding process. The design of a new coulter for a nursery seeder designed for broadband sowing of forest seeds is presented. The results of field tests of a prototype coulter are described, which showed an improvement in germination and seedling quality compared with traditional sowing methods.
