The effect of the non-stationary component of resistance on the total value of water resistance to the movement of logs transport units during acceleration is studied. The results are based on the study of the non-stationary movement of logs transport units in shallow water conditions. For the study, rafting units were specially developed for transporting timber along rivers with shallow depths. The obtained results allow us to estimate the effect of the non-stationary component of resistance on the total resistance during acceleration of a logs transport unit.
