In recent years, the problems of environmental safety and the rational use of natural resources have become increasingly urgent. Due to the fact that hazardous chemicals are used in the production of paper and cardboard, when refining secondary fibers, the question arises of reducing the environmental burden. This can be achieved through the use of enzymes that are naturally occurring substances. With a wide variety of practical applications, enzymes that affect cellulosic material have found application. When they are fed into the mass, they form water-soluble compounds, interacting with fibrils of cellulose fiber. And as a result of refining, enzymatic treatment will have a positive effect on the optical properties of paper and cardboard.
