The article is devoted to the digital transformation of the Russian forestry sector using artificial intelligence (AI) and satellite monitoring. The article considers technologies of automated control over logging and timber transportation, their impact on industry transparency and reduction of illegal logging. Successful implementation examples, economic and environmental benefits, and the prospects for integrating AI with existing systems are analysed. It concludes that further digitalisation of the industry is inevitable, while maintaining the role of qualified specialists.
