The article shows the effect of alkaline activation on the sorption capacity of aluminosilicate sorbents and biochars based on sawdust of woody plants. The analysis of the sorption capacity of the original and modified samples was carried out relative to formaldehyde. The physico-chemical parameters for biochar samples and the chemical composition for aluminosilicates before and after modification were determined. The samples were modified with 2 M KOH and NaOH solutions. The effect of alkali promotes an increase in sorption on pine and poplar biochar samples by 1.4 and 1.7 times, respectively, on clinoptilolite and nontronite samples - by 1.2 and 1.6 times.
