The analysis of the layout and operating principles of the installation for modeling thermal, physical and chemical processes in the external cooling circuit systems of nuclear power plants is carried out. The installation allows to estimate the operational efficiency of various brands of reagents that prevent the formation of deposits on the surface of the sprinkler and calcite flakes in the water of the cooling tower pool. The technological scheme of the device is presented and the main stages of organizing the process of comparative testing of reagents are considered. Based on the new requirements for the safety and efficiency of the installation, ways of its modernization are proposed.
