The article presents the results of applying NDVI analysis to assess the state of forest plantations using the example of the Somovsky Forestry District of the Voronezh Region. A comparison of the average NDVI values for each forest taxa allocation over a nine-year period was carried out using low-resolution satellite images from Landsat 8-9, which made it possible to identify plantations with a significant change in the vegetation index over the period under study.
