The geographical variabilityand thepopulation structure of the Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) study is an important area in forest breeding and genetics. This problem is relevant due to the need to preserve the species genetic diversity, to increase productivity and resilience of forest ecosystems to changing climatic conditions. Geographical pine crops established in various regions allow us to explore the trees adaptive capabilities to new environmental conditions, as well as to identify climatic factors influence patterns on the tree stands growth. This article discusses the main methods ofthe geographical cultures and population structure of Pinus sylvestris L.studying, as well as the history of the Pinus sylvestris L. in Khrenovsky forest test culturescreation.
