The article discusses the issues of the state and possible prospects for the development of the forest complex. The focus is on sustainability and ensuring economic security. The types of innovative perspectives of the organization that contribute to the formation of a sustainable development strategy and complement progressive changes in the production process in the face of new competition are outlined. A model of new competition is proposed as a SCOR model, which provides a structured framework describing organizational processes. New forms of innovation and the increasing complexity of digital platforms are highlighted.
