The paper considers the use of fertilizers, in particular organic fertilizers, in forestry as an important tool for increasing forest productivity, sustainability and solving environmental problems. It is emphasized that after deforestation and fires, forest soils often suffer from a deficiency of humus and nutrients. The situation on the global fertilizer market is analyzed, the growth of consumption is shown, as well as the growing interest in organic fertilizers, especially in Russia. The factors stimulating the use of organic fertilizers in forestry are highlighted, and the main problems and limitations preventing their wider distribution are outlined. In conclusion, the prospects for the development of organic fertilizers for the forestry industry are presented, including technological innovations, government support and awareness-raising among foresters.
