The article is devoted to the issues of resource-saving technologies in mechanical engineering and machine repair, focusing on the restoration of machine and equipment parts as an effective way to save materials and energy resources. The prospects of alternative methods of restoration and surface treatment of parts are considered. Special attention is paid to electromechanical hardening (EMU), which increases the hardness and wear resistance of surfaces, increasing the performance properties of parts and reducing material and energy costs. Experimental data confirming the effectiveness of the method are presented, as well as the specifics of the implementation of this technology and the prospects for its further introduction into industrial production. The high environmental friendliness of the presented recovery method is noted.
