Abstract (English):
In the context of global climate change, forest ecosystems are an important factor in reducing CO2 emissions. Assessment of the carbon cycle in forest biogeocenoses requires a detailed analysis of the carbon content, accumulation and spatial distribution in various structural components of these ecosystems. One of the most dynamic components of the forest phytocenosis is the living ground cover. The phytomass of living ground cover largely determines carbon deposition, the amount of fall, fire hazard, and its organic matter makes a significant contribution to the overall carbon and nitrogen cycle in the forest ecosystem. On the established permanent test areas in different types of forest ecosystems characteristic of the Voronezh Region, measurements of the reserves of phytomass of living ground cover were carried out in order to determine carbon reserves and estimate annual net primary production (NWP). It was found that the maximum increase in living ground cover is observed in conditions of dry oak forests, in the type of oak-sedge-grass forest.
