The paper presents a calculation of the efficiency of investment costs in the implementation of forest climate projects on forest fund lands in the central forest-steppe regions of the European part of the Russian Federation. The concept of the coefficient of carbon intensity of investment costs is introduced, and a general formula for its calculation is given. Options for its calculation for reforestation in clear-cut areas, reforestation in burnt areas and afforestation on treeless lands of the forest fund, as well as on agricultural territories are considered.
