The article analyzes the transition of economic systems to sustainable development, in which environmental damage is minimized. The author puts forward the idea that modern economic models have internal contradictions. The negative consequences of the introduction of new technologies and the complexities in the interaction of economics and ecology are also considered. In conclusion, the key factors hindering the transition to sustainable development and a green economy have been identified.
