The article discusses the technology of complex processing of birch bark to obtain valuable biologically active substance - betulin. The processing unit is described, including a chipping machine, drying chamber, crusher, separator and extractor. The technological process scheme is presented, allowing to obtain high purity betulin and filler for the production of wood-polymer composites. The properties of betulin, its application in medicine, food industry and cosmetology are explored. Anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and healing properties of the substance are shown.
