This paper presents scientifically grounded approaches to creating adaptive greening systems in a megalopolis, focusing on the reclamation of disturbed lands. Special attention is paid to the city of Donetsk as an industrial center with significant environmental problems, including the consequences of man-made activities. The article analyzes the regulatory and legal aspects of forming green systems within the context of Russian legislation. A comprehensive approach is proposed, combining phytoremediation and the use of adapted plant species to restore sanitary protection zones and sites of accumulated environmental damage.
