The effect of ameliorants (wood sawdust, biochar and clay aluminosilicate) on soil properties and growth of pine seedlings was studied. Physicochemical characteristics of wood sawdust and biochar, as well as characteristics of montmorillonite clay were determined. It was found that the introduction of modifiers leads to an increase in the soil moisture index by 1.2 - 1.8 times compared to the control sample. It was found that the addition of 1% modifiers to soils promotes the intensification of pine seedling growth. The addition of the clay mineral montmorillonite and biochar based on poplar sawdust has a greater effect on soil characteristics.
