The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the environmental and socio-economic significance of forest-park green belts in the context of sustainable urban development in the context of increasing urbanization. The principles of their formation and functional organization are revealed, and their role in maintaining the ecological balance, preserving biodiversity, increasing climate resilience, and improving the quality of the urban environment and living conditions of the population is demonstrated. The key functional aspects of green belts, including their environmental, social, and economic effects, are examined, and the main threats to their sustainable functioning are identified. A set of measures has been proposed as a priority for environmental protection, including strengthening environmental policies, developing mechanisms for local community participation in environmental initiatives, and integrating sustainable management and planning practices into urban development systems.
