Abstract (English):
The results of studies on the effect of seed thickness calibration of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) on the change in the height of seedlings when growing them in a nursery are presented. The study was conducted in 2023-2024 on the basis of the State Forestry Enterprise "Leninsky Forestry" of the Lipetsk Region in accordance with the contract No. ... The object of the study is Scots pine seedlings grown from seeds that were previously calibrated in size (thickness). Before sowing, a batch of Scots pine seeds was calibrated by thickness using a non-sieve technology into four size fractions (small, medium, medium-large, and large). The size gap in the fractions was determined experimentally using end measures. Uncalibrated seeds were used as a control. The resulting seed fractions were sown in a forest nursery in the second decade of April 2023 using a narrow-row method. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of seed thickness calibration on the height of Scots pine seedlings during their cultivation.
