The article studies the interrelation of socio-economic and environmental factors in the conditions of urbanization and their combined impact on the quality of life of the population of urbanized areas. Special attention is paid to a comprehensive analysis of modern challenges accompanying the intensive growth of urban agglomerations. The study substantiates the need for an integrated approach to the comprehensive assessment of the state of urbanized areas, which allows taking into account the multidimensional nature of interrelations between socio-economic and environmental parameters. To implement this approach, a multistage algorithm was carried out, including consecutive stages of data collection and systematization, identification and mapping of functional zones, calculation and scaling of complex indicators characterizing key aspects of urban environment functioning, as well as stages of visualization of the obtained results and formulation of targeted measures to improve urban environment management.
