This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the impact of the geographical origin of the planting material on the survival rates, sanitary condition, breeding value and growth characteristics of stands of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) under the conditions of introduction in the Voronezh region. Based on long-term monitoring of 453 trees representing 20 geographical populations, significant ecological plasticity of the species was revealed and the dependence of the success of adaptation on the degree of compliance of the soil and climatic conditions of the region of origin and the region of introduction was established. The data obtained are of practical importance for the development of scientifically sound recommendations for reforestation in the Central Chernozem region and can be used in the planning of forest-seed areas and the creation of a permanent forest-seed base.
