This article studies the run-off of wood during logging with multi-operation forest machines, in relation to typical conditions of the North-Western Federal District. The dimensional parameters of the cut-overs, harvested with the use of felling-bark-cutting-and-splitting machines, carrying out logging in the Leningrad Region and in the Republic of Karelia, were studied. During the research, the average run-off of the cut-overs, depending on the diameter at the base, was calculated. The variability of the runoff has been established, which is determined by the climatic and soil characteristics of tree growth in the regions of the North-Western Federal District.
