The article analyzes the current state and prospects for the development of regional cargo transportation in the Russian Federation in the context of the Transport Strategy until 2030, with a forecast until 2035. The authors emphasize the need for systemic transformation aimed at creating a modern, digital, and multimodal logistics ecosystem, rather than simply increasing capacity. The key areas of development include optimizing the transportation structure (reducing the share of long-distance road transportation), developing infrastructure (cargo villages, Unified Support Network), and comprehensively digitalizing processes. Special attention is paid to the specifics of different regions and the need for synergy between government, business, and science to ensure equal economic opportunities throughout the country.
