Abstract (English):
The article studies the modification of birch wood using oligomeric compounds based on petrochemical by-products – 4-vinylcyclohexene, cyclododecatriene and n-dodecatetraene. The aim of the work was to improve the performance properties of wood: reduce water absorption and swelling, increase strength and biostability. It was found that the quality of the modification is most affected by the temperature of the impregnation composition and the styrene content. The data obtained confirm the prospects of using petrochemical waste to create effective protective impregnations.
