This paper examines the fundamental aspects of current product design, focusing on the importance of materials science and environmentally responsible approaches in product development. The central idea is the need to integrate principles of the entire product life cycle, covering all stages - from resource extraction to recycling. Particular attention is paid to the importance of choosing optimal materials, taking into account the ecological footprint, as well as suitable production techniques that aim to minimize energy consumption and waste generation.
