: the article analyzes the current state and prospects of Russian-Turkmen economic cooperation. The legal framework for interaction is based on the Treaty on Strategic Partnership between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan, as well as the Agreement on the Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investments (2009). The foundation of trade and economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan lies in the provisions of the intergovernmental agreements on free trade (November 11, 1992) and on trade and economic cooperation (August 30, 2008). Institutional collaboration is carried out through the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, the Russian-Turkmen Business Council, and regular business forums. The author identifies key areas for deepening partnership: Trade expansion (diversification of trade, reduction of barriers); Energy cooperation (gas, petrochemicals, renewable energy); Investments (industrial clusters, financial support); Transport corridors (North-South, Caspian routes); Agriculture (joint agro-industrial projects); Finance (settlements in national currencies); Scientific and educational exchanges. It is emphasized that the success of further cooperation depends on the political will of both parties and business activity, as well as on the modernization of the legal and contractual framework, including Turkmenistan’s potential alignment with the EAEU.
