This scientific paper provides a detailed analysis of the theoretical foundations underlying the effective management of natural resources, which are a complex organizational complex. The work has conducted in-depth research on key environmental and economic challenges, as well as their origin. An overview of the economic methods used in the field of environmental management has been carried out. A simple assessment of the relationship between socio-economic development focuses on the importance of developing a strategy for the efficient use of natural resources, consistent with the country's strategic development goals. As part of the study, an analysis of the environmental situation in the Russian Federation was carried out.
