the article is devoted to the study of the role of the President of the Russian Federation in the system of separation of powers. The article analyzes the main functions and powers of the president provided for by the Constitution of the Russian Federation, as well as his influence on the legislative, executive and administrative branches of government. Special attention is paid to the mechanism of interaction between the president and other state institutions and methods of ensuring a balance between the various branches of government. A comparative analysis of the functions and positions of the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States is carried out.
