This article is devoted to the study of the problems of modern democracy and the main democratic processes. The theoretical aspects of the concept of "democratization" are analyzed. The main attention is paid to the process of globalization and digitalization, which with their spread have brought certain changes to this type of political system, from which certain negative consequences followed.
