The article provides a comprehensive overview of intelligent transport systems (ITS). Their architecture, key technologies and classification of the main applications are considered — from traffic management to the development of unmanned vehicles. Special attention is paid to the issue of personnel training and the prospects for integrating ITS with artificial intelligence and V2X communication technologies.
