Abstract:
Removal of unwanted trees and shrubs from linear infrastructure facilities is often carried out without regard for the species composition of the growing vegetation, which leads to a decrease in the quality of the work. The aim of the study was to pilot-test a method for assessing the quality and effectiveness of vegetation removal. Information is provided on the characteristics of the selected site for this test, the equipment used, and the species composition of the unwanted vegetation. It was found that after removing the undergrowth (98.07 % of which was box elder), the previously cleared area rapidly regenerates. The degree of overgrowth dynamics and the distribution of species dominance are shown. A conclusion is drawn regarding the applicability of the developed method.
