Abstract:
When forest industry enterprises establish protective forest plantations, the problem of subsequent spontaneous propagation of trees and shrubs arises. The aim of the study was to determine the species composition of undesirable plant communities forming in the territories of linear forest objects. An analysis of the distribution of undesirable vegetation species growing in the studied areas was conducted. It was shown that in sections of railway right-of-ways (and power lines), the occurrence of box elder species was 33 % (25 %), elm 15 %, and approximately 36 % of all identified species are prone to subsequent regeneration by stump shoots. A conclusion was drawn about the general inefficiency of existing technological processes for removing unwanted vegetation.
