Abstract:
The article presents the results of a selection and genetic inventory of introduced tree species in the forest fund of the Republic of Belarus. The aim of the work was to identify and select valuable genotypes and form a DNA collection. It was revealed that more than half of the stands are of artificial origin and confined to fertile forest types. Certification of permanent forest seed base objects was carried out. Using the CTAB method, a DNA collection of 65 samples of valuable genotypes (European beech, Japanese larch, Douglas fir, Eastern white pine) was formed, characterized by high DNA purity indicators. The "Register of Genetic Resources of Introduced Tree Species in the Forest Fund of Belarus" has been compiled, which will serve as a foundation for gene pool conservation and breeding work in the republic's forestry sector. The conclusions emphasize the potential of introduced species for selection and reforestation.
