Protective ravine plantations in the Central forest-steppe are represented by species primarily consisting of pedunculate oak, common ash, Norway maple, and small-leaved linden. In 60-year-old plots, common oak varies in growth and condition depending on its location both in the lower parts of the gullies and on their slopes. In the lower parts of the slopes and along the gulley floor itself, it exhibits the best growth in terms of diameter, height, stemwood volume, and condition. In terms of share, oak also has a higher value by 1-2 units. Associated species account for 2-5 units in the composition. Their biometric growth indicators lag behind the main species by a factor of 1.13-2.25. The ground cover is most pronounced in the lower parts of the gullies, where the young growth and undergrowth also exhibit the highest quantitative and qualitative indicators. Better growing conditions in the lower parts of the ravine areas contribute to the formation of more stable stands with a better condition category.
