Abstract:
The results of the experiment on clonally propagated plants of aspen highly productive forms growing in nursery with the use of five different technological schemes: protected ground – open root system (PG-ORS); open ground – open root system (OG-ORS); protected ground – closed root system with the substrate volume per plant of 0.27 l (OG-ORS, 0.27 l); protected ground – closed root system with the substrate volume per plant of 0.5 l (OG-ORS, 0.5 l); protected ground – closed root system with the substrate volume per plant 1.0 l (OG-ORS, 1.0 l) are presented in the article. The obtained seedlings were planted in forest plantation conditions to assess the effect of the growing method on plant growth and development. It was found that plants of the "ZG-OKS" variant, which did not undergo the acclimatization period and were constantly kept in a greenhouse covered with polycarbonate, were characterized by the greatest degree of damage from late-spring frosts and the lowest relative growth rate at the end of the first growing season under natural conditions. The lowest survival rates were observed for seedlings of the "OKS-ZG, 0.27 l" scheme, which is presumably due to the presence of severely depressed individuals in this experimental group, which is associated with the emergence of competitive relationships when growing material in relatively compact cassettes with 35 cells.
