The article examines the current state of the wind energy industry in the Russian Federation. Based on the analysis of scientific publications, industry reports and expert interviews, key problems hindering the development of «green» energy have been identified: technological, infrastructural, regulatory and financial. Special attention is paid to promising areas, including the development of innovative vortex generators for low winds, the policy of import substitution and localization of production in the NovaWind division of the Rosatom State Corporation, as well as the potential of using wind farms for energy supply to isolated territories. The conclusion is made about the need for an integrated approach combining technological renewal, improvement of the regulatory framework and development of human resources to realize the huge wind energy potential of Russia.
