IMPROVING THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF FUEL-USING INSTALLATIONS THROUGH MICROWAVE CONTROL OF FREE MOISTURE

Abstract:
The article deals with the problem of the influence of free water in hydrocarbon fuels on the energy efficiency of industrial heat and power plants. The necessity of precise control of water content in fuel to ensure the energy security of production is substantiated. A resonator microwave method with high sensitivity to low moisture concentrations is proposed. A mathematical model of the interaction of the electromagnetic field with water droplets on a dielectric substrate in a cylindrical cavity resonator has been developed. An experimental verification of the model was carried out, confirming the possibility of detecting moisture volumes of less than 25 μl. The application of this method makes it possible to prevent a decrease in the calorific value of fuel and increase the overall energy efficiency of production.
